Pueblo Nuevo: Family Visits

On Friday morning after breakfast, we drove to the top of the mountain where the famous cross overlooks Antigua.  It's an amazing view of Antigua and the volcano and mountains.  You'll see photos of that in the blog "Touring Antigua".

In this blog, I'm focusing on the work we did the rest of the day in Pueblo Nuevo.  We drove to the village and then walked into the shanty area to visit with a couple families.  I will be honest, I wasn't too sure if this was something I could handle.  I've driven through many 3rd world countries and viewed these little wood and tin shacks from afar, while we were being transported in air-conditioned buses from hotel to 5-Star resort.  So actually walking inside and greeting the people that live there was an eye-opening experience.

I realized that we have so very much to be grateful!

This is one of the families that was being helped by the Mission organization. Part of their home was washed away by mudslides.  They waited 6 months after this new part of their home was built for Terry to come back and "bless" it for them to use it.  They were extremely grateful.
