Pueblo Nuevo: Build it and They will Come

Once the meal was prepared, craft projects prepped, and chairs assembled in anticipation, we were ready to greet our 60 little friends!  So where were all the children?  As we had driven down the street, we didn't see a single child out riding a bike or playing.  Terry informed us that we'd need to head out to the open field and kick around a soccer ball and walk around to generate some curiosity among the children.

This was the most amazing experience.  Just like the saying "build it and they will come".  It started with an empty field.  And then 1 or 2 children kicking around a ball.  And then there was a handful of children playing.  And then there were a dozen.  And then two dozen, and so on!  And by the time we led the children back to the garage for childrens ministry and a warm meal, there were around 80!
