The Beauty of Guatemala

As I finish packing my suitcase for the week, and packing the bags for the girls to go to Grandma's, I thought I'd give them some fun things to look at and think about when they think of where their Mom is going to be for the next week.  I found this video on YouTube that someone made.  The music is upbeat, and it shows the history and beauty of the area of Antigua where we will stay.  Nicole was very surprised.  She kept saying, "Mom, it's really pretty.  It's not all ruined! Guatemala looks fun!"  She has been thinking of Guatemala like the images of Thailand after the Tsunami, because the girl from the movie Soul Surfer went there on a mission trip!  So, I think that kind of devastation is the image she had in her mind!  I'm glad I was able to show her this video and reset that image!!

This last picture is Lake Atitlan, which is surrounded by volcanoes.  This is where we plan to spend our last day in Guatemala to unwind and take in the scenery before we come home.
